Version 4.0.0
A major update to Discover, playback and media management
This release brings some of the largest changes yet to Connectarr, with a redesigned Discover experience, new media server integrations, more powerful Sonarr and Radarr controls, expanded search and a refreshed interface across key parts of the app.
Discover now follows your region
Discover now adapts its content to your selected country.
Streaming releases, TV shows airing this week, available streaming platforms and theatrical releases are now based on your region instead of using the same selection everywhere.
A new Discover Region setting lets you override your device region when travelling or using a VPN, and the preference can sync through iCloud.
Discover also introduces two new Because you watched… rows, using titles from your own library to suggest related movies and series while excluding content you already have.
Local streaming platforms are now supported alongside global services, with providers such as Canal+, M6+, Arte, Crave, iciTouTV, BBC iPlayer and ITVX appearing where available.
Streaming availability information is provided by JustWatch.
Redesigned movie and series pages
Movie and series pages have been substantially redesigned.
Primary actions such as Play, Search or Add are now more prominent, secondary actions are easier to reach, and key information has been reorganized into a more compact layout.
Series seasons now expand directly on the page and show how many episodes are available or missing.
Movie collections are also better integrated. When a movie belongs to a collection, Connectarr can display the full saga in order and show which titles you already have. Missing movies can be selected and added to Radarr together.
A new episode experience
Episode details have also been redesigned.
You can move directly between previous and next episodes without closing the sheet, quickly access automatic search, manual search, subtitles and playback, and switch between Info, File and History.
Plex, Emby and Jellyfin
Connectarr now supports Plex directly, without requiring Tautulli.
Sign in with Plex discovers your servers automatically and supports Plex Home profiles, allowing playback progress, watch history and recommendations to follow the selected user.
Connectarr can now also connect directly to Emby and Jellyfin.
These integrations bring:
-
Now Playing
-
Continue Watching
-
Recently Added
-
Watched status
-
Playback links
-
Per-user viewing information
-
Library filtering
-
Recently played and transcoding information
When the same title is available on multiple media servers, Connectarr can ask where you want to play it and remember your choice.
The previous service-specific buttons have also been replaced by a single Play action throughout the app.
Favorite actors
Actors can now be added to your favorites.
Discover can create dedicated rows for them, while Home can show a combined My Actors section ordered by the latest and upcoming releases.
A new management screen lets you search for actors, add or remove favorites and decide whether you only want upcoming titles to appear.
Favorites can sync through iCloud.
Search has been rebuilt
Search is now organized into three main sections:
Library, Discover and People.
Each section appears as a horizontal row with the option to open the full results.
When Prowlarr or Jackett is configured, Search can also offer an Indexers section. This lets you launch the same query against your indexers without automatically searching on every keystroke.
Search Prowlarr and Jackett together
Connectarr can now search all your Prowlarr and Jackett indexers from one place.
Results from both services are combined into a single list, duplicate releases are removed, and individual Prowlarr and Jackett filters remain available.
Searches can be filtered by category and indexer, sorted by seeders, size, date or name, and sent directly to supported download clients.
Prowlarr Usenet results can also be sent as NZBs to SABnzbd or NZBGet.
Recent searches stay on the device.
Manage indexers from Connectarr
Prowlarr and Jackett indexers can now be added, edited, tested and removed directly from Connectarr.
You can browse available indexers, filter them by protocol, access type and language, configure their settings and test them before saving.
A new Test all indexers action checks both Prowlarr and Jackett and clearly shows which indexers are working and which need attention.
Wanted has been redesigned
Wanted now uses a cleaner grouped list.
Series with several missing episodes appear as one item that can be expanded, while actions such as automatic search and monitoring can apply to the entire group.
Wanted also gains dedicated views for:
Missing — content you don't currently have.
Cutoff Unmet — files that exist but don't yet meet the quality target defined by Sonarr or Radarr.
Missing Subtitles — available when Bazarr is connected, showing movies and episodes still missing required subtitles.
Bulk search actions are available for both Cutoff Unmet and missing subtitles.
More control over Sonarr and Radarr
Sonarr and Radarr management has expanded significantly.
You can now access the Blocklist, view server health and scheduled tasks from a new Maintenance screen, trigger tasks manually and see whether a newer Sonarr or Radarr version is available.
Movie and series actions have also been reorganized into a clearer menu, including:
-
Edit
-
Refresh
-
Rescan disk
-
Rename files
-
Delete
File renaming includes a preview before anything is changed.
Deletion options are also clearer, separating removal from Sonarr/Radarr, deletion of files, or both.
Downloaded releases can be marked as failed directly from History, which sends them to the blocklist and lets Sonarr or Radarr look for another release.
Better adding and editing
Adding movies and series from Discover has been redesigned around a clearer list of options.
Advanced Sonarr and Radarr settings are now available directly when adding content, including monitoring behavior, series type, season folders, minimum availability, collections and immediate search.
Your preferred settings can optionally be remembered separately for each server.
The same interface is now also used when editing titles and performing bulk edits.
More powerful bulk actions
Library selection mode now supports actions across multiple Sonarr and Radarr instances.
You can:
-
Edit selected titles
-
Search them
-
Refresh them
-
Remove them
-
Manage tags
Tags can be added, removed or replaced across different servers, with Connectarr creating missing tags where necessary.
Activity gets more control
Activity now includes a + button for adding downloads directly.
You can paste a magnet or HTTP link, or select a .torrent or .nzb file. Connectarr automatically offers compatible download clients and remembers your preferred client and category.
Download speed limits can also be managed directly from Activity for qBittorrent, Transmission, SABnzbd and NZBGet.
The Activity header has been simplified, with current download and upload speeds moved into a dedicated status bar.
Improved Now Playing
Now Playing is now available directly from the More screen and can be added to the custom tab bar.
It becomes available whenever Plex, Tautulli, Emby or Jellyfin is connected.
The Home Now Playing section has also been redesigned into compact swipeable cards showing viewer, playback method and remaining time.
Better Home customization
Quick Access shortcuts from More can now be added directly to Home and remain synchronized with the order configured in More.
Poster size is now configurable across Home, Library, Search, Discover and Calendar using a new global display setting.
Home customization has also been simplified by removing the previous starting layout presets.
Bazarr improvements
Bazarr gains deeper integration throughout Connectarr.
Missing subtitles can appear directly in Wanted, subtitle activity is available through a dedicated History filter, and the Bazarr service page now provides health information, provider status, scheduled tasks and version information.
Better media management
Several additional media-management actions are now available throughout the app.
Individual episode files can be deleted while keeping the episode in Sonarr, entire season files can be removed at once, and queued Sonarr or Radarr releases can be forced to download immediately.
Tautulli can also stop an active Plex stream directly from its live Activity view when supported by the server.
Smarter Overseerr and Jellyseerr requests
When Overseerr or Jellyseerr is connected, Add to Library can now ask whether a title should be added directly through Sonarr/Radarr or submitted as a request.
Connectarr can remember your preferred destination.
Series requests support season selection, while request managers can also select the appropriate server, profile and root folder.
Interface improvements
Several major screens have received visual and usability updates, including:
-
Streaming platform pages
-
Actor pages
-
Activity
-
Search
-
Wanted
-
Movie, series and episode details
-
Add and Edit screens
-
Now Playing
Error messages from services such as Tautulli, Dispatcharr and Tdarr are also clearer and easier to understand.
And more
This release also includes numerous smaller improvements to playback, ads, navigation, streaming metadata, download clients, subtitle management, localization, responsiveness and overall reliability throughout Connectarr.
